WHEN SHOULD MY PUPPY COME FOR ITS FIRST GROOM?

It’s important to have your puppy groomed as soon as possible so they can get used to and learn to love the grooming experience.  We recommend they come in two week after their last set of vaccinations. We will not normally clip your puppy on their first visit as the as we don’t want to overwhelm them. During their first visit your puppy will be introduced in a relaxed and fun way to the sights, sounds and smells of the grooming salon ensuring that future visits are stress free. Some dogs will require multiple puppy visits.

HOW LONG WILL MY DOGS GROOM TAKE?

Approximate times for each treatment are listed on our home page.  The time taken will depend on the condition and length of your dog’s hair.   We will give you a collection time when you drop off but it is normally 1/1.5hrs for most dogs.

DO YOU USE DRYING CAGES?

We do not use drying cages, this includes pointing a stand dryer at a dog in a crate.  All pooch’s are finished by hand by our bather or groomer.  We choose to do this for the safety and well-being of our canine clients, and while this increases the treatment time we refuse to compromise by operating equipment and practices used by other groomers.

CAN I STAY WITH MY DOG THROUGH OUT THE GROOM?

Unfortunately not, As your dog loves you very much they will wiggle and move around trying to get close to you for comfort which is not safe while we are grooming with sharp instruments. It is best to drop off your dog at their scheduled appointment time, and then come back when the treatment is finished. With out you there your dog will look to the groomer for comfort and will help us build a trusting bond.  You can also give us a call any time during the treatment to find out how your dog is doing.
